Join Girl Scouts from 5 different councils at Roundtop for a weekend and earn the Amaze Journey, Eating for Beauty, First Aid, and Archery badges as well!
The Amaze Journey weekend starts at Roundtop Mountain Resort on Saturday afternoon and then transitions to nearby Hampton Inn and TownePlace Suites for the movie, overnight lodging, and 2 badge workshops the next morning.
You are responsible for your own transportation from Roundtop to the hotels, which are located 15 minutes away and side by side. The Hampton Inn has an outdoor pool and the TownePlace Suites has an indoor pool. Otherwise the properties are equally nice and your only consideration is whether you prefer a Hilton brand or Marriott brand.

12:30 pm-1:00 pm Check in at Roundtop Ropes Course
1:00 pm-6:00 pm High/Low Ropes Course and Archery
*chaperones are welcome to bring a lawn chair and relax by the pond or in the pavilions while their girls participate in the activities. Roundtop professionally trained staff will lead all activities.
6:00 pm-7:00 pm Picnic at Ropes Course pavilions
7:00 pm Drive to hotel properties – the address will be provided with your confirmation
7:30 pm-8:30 pm Check into the hotel and receive information about where the movie will be shown, and where the morning workshops will be held
9:00 pm Movie: Inside Out
8:30-9:30 am Breakfast and Eating for Beauty badge workshop
9:30-10:30 am First Aid badge workshop
11:00 am Check out of the hotel
Your choices for price include the following:
- Option 1: Complete package – decide, prior to calling and reserving, if you plan to have 2, 3, or 4 people per room.
- Option 2: Complete weekend, but drive home at night.
- Option 3: 12:30-7pm on Saturday at Roundtop only (High/Low Ropes Course, Archery, and picnic).
For each of these prices points, the chaperone is invited to be present and enjoy all food. Chaperones are not able to take part in the high/low ropes course, or archery portions of the weekend.

Requirements for the AMAZE Journey will be accomplished through a facilitated high/low ropes course event with the following outcomes:
Improved inter-personal relationships. Team building participants are all working together to complete the challenges. That helps to reinforce their ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Greater self-awareness of individual strengths and improved skills.
Increased self-confidence. Girls will conquer challenges they never imagined they could do.
Heightened group confidence. As individuals and groups conquer each new element they discover new talents and new strengths. This builds group and individual confidence as team members rely on each other to conquer individual fears.
Enhanced problem solving skills. Groups are given parameters to complete the different low course elements and must devise a plan, divide tasks, and make adjustments as they go. The small group processes the element with their facilitator allowing them to realize the steps they took to complete the activity. After the group processes their experience, the facilitator helps them think of ways to apply their experience to challenges faced day-to-day. Because people participate in team-building together, it helps to reinforce the group’s ideas for application of their experience.
Requirements for the Archery badge will also be accomplished at Roundtop Mountain Resort by trained archery facilitators.
A representative from UPMC will join Girl Scouts at the hotel on Sunday morning to cover the requirements for Eating for Beauty and First Aid badges.
